Web Links

Here are a few sites we think may be useful. Please note that the Diocese is not responsible for the content of these external sites and does not necessarily endorse them. If you have any more suggestions, then email them in and we may add them to the list.

Christian Youth Work

www.youthwork.co.uk - the website from the youthwork magazine, with online articles and forum relating to youthwork
www.youthworksummit.com the website for the annual ‘TED-style’ day long summit that meets in London and Manchester (alternating)
www.youthworkconference.co.uk - the annual conference in Southport and Eastbourne for employed, volunteer and emerging youth leaders
www.soulsurvivor.com/uk - the website linked to the summer festivals and Watford Church. Also contains other content and useful information
www.soulsurvivor.com/soulnet - the youth leaders training and support arm of soul survivor, providing training and retreats
www.studentlinkup.org a site designed for young people and youthworkers to help them connect to church when they leave for uni

Other Youth Work
www.nya.org.uk - the website of the national youth agency, who work to promote and support youthwork in both the statutory voluntary and 'third' sectors
Surrey County Council Youth Section - the website for Surrey County Council youth information - advice about grants, funding services and the like
www.acas.org.uk - a website that gives impartial information about employee and employers legal rights, including pensions, maternity pay, sick leave etc

Jobs
www.jobsearchmonitor.com - the main website where Churches and other Christian groups advertise for staff
www.churchtimes.co.uk - website of the Church Times, which sometimes carries a limited number of youthwork vacancies
www.churchnewspaper.com - website of the Church of England newspaper, which sometimes carries a very limited number of youthwork vacancies. Look under 'the record' and once downloaded, it is at the end of the pdf
www.callwaiting.org.uk - a website for young people aged 13-30 thinking about ordination in the Church of England, with ordinands' stories, an overview of the process, things to think about and even a reading list

Blogs and other websites that contain useful resources and links
www.youthblog.org one of the original blogs about youthwork and ministry from the youth adviser in Oxford. Why do something similar when you can get the original. That’s my view, anyway!
http://dopcandy.portsmouth.anglican.org/ contains a wealth of resources for use in sessions, thoughtful articles etc – more sessional resource focused than youthblog. This is from the youth adviser in Portsmouth. Again why repeat something this good?
http://www.rethinkingyouthministry.com/ an American site that is a bit more theologically focused, with a mixture of thought provoking articles and some other links.

Of course our regular mailings contain the best of what we have found on the web – including a youtube of the term or month. Ask Elaine to be added to the list!
