Admissions and Appeals

Church schools in the Diocese of Guildford comply with the Department for Education Codes of Practice:

Governors of Voluntary Aided Schools set the Admissions Policy every year. If you require information about a specific school's admissions policy you should contact the school direct or check the school's website (click for maps and listing of Church Schools' phone numbers and websites).

Parents: How to appeal
Any parent who fails to secure a place for their child at one of their preferred schools, has a statutory right of appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel. If you wish to lodge such an appeal against the decision of the Governing Body of a VA or Foundation school within Guildford Diocese, please read the FAQs (pdf).

To request the appropriate forms, please e-mail Helen Dean (School Appeals Clerk) with the following details – your child’s name, age and preferred school.  Alternatively if you do not have access to e-mail, please call 01483-484901 leaving a message with the above details, as well as your address and telephone number.

Please note that if you are appealing for a place at a Community School, you will need to contact the Local Authority.
